My First Triathlon Experience

You have never done a triathlon and you want to live an incredible experience?

This event is for you!

MY FIRST TRIATHLON EXPERIENCE will take place on Sunday 17th September 2023.

  • The start will be given at 14:00 am from the banks of the Centre d’Accueil de la Plate Taille at the Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure.
  • IMPORTANT: All bikes are allowed, provided that they comply with safety standards.
  • Bikes and equipment may only be deposited in the transition park on race day between 7.00 and 9.00 am.
  • DISTANCES: 200m – 15km – 3km
  • Minimum age: 16 years old during the current year (born in 2007 or before).
  • To pick up the start number, athletes will have to present their identity card and a medical certificate mentioning the aptitude to do a triathlon in competition.
  • The medical certificate is valid for 6 months.

DEPARTURE TIMES

  • 14:00 – « rolling start » Departure
    • Rolling start = 5 athletes will start every 10 seconds from the banks of the lake.

TIME LIMITS

  • No cut off

SWIM – 200m Huub

  • Departure in several waves from the banks of the Centre d’Accueil de la Plate Taille
  • 2 loops of 100m with Australian exit (during the swimming part the participants will come back to the bank after 100m of swimming before finishing the remaining 100m).
  • Wetsuits are allowed if the temperature is below 24°C
  • Wetsuits are compulsory if the temperature is below 16°C
  • No warm-up in the water is allowed before the start
  • Training only allowed on Friday 15/09 from 14:00 to 15:00 and from 17:00 to 18:00

BIKE – 15km 

  • All bikes are allowed, provided they meet the safety standards
  • Non-DRAFTING event
  • 1 lap of 15km around the Lacs de l’Eau d’Heure
  • Bike course closed to traffic
  • 1 refreshment point
  • Closing of the bike park at 9.00 am

RUNNING – 3km

  • 3 laps of 1km around the Plate Taille Welcome Centre
  • 1 refreshment point per lap
